SEADE Comes to an End!
Project End
Today, SEADE, running from January 2024 to December 2025, officially concludes after two years of fostering AU-EU cooperation for Research and Innovation in Digital (R&IID) actors. It provided fundamental support services and delivering valuable programmes rooted in sound market research. The project is funded by the EU’s key funding programme for research and innovation, Horizon Europe.
Programme Highlights
Webinars and learning expeditions: 2-hour online webinars and one-week immersive visits introduced participants to local innovation ecosystems, provided hands-on insights, and showcased opportunities for collaboration.
Softlanding programmes: Three-month market immersion activities in Senegal, Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa led to new collaborations, business registrations, and local partnerships, helping participants establish a strong presence in African markets.
Twinning programme: Eight organisations from 11 countries formed five Africa–Europe pairs, fostering knowledge exchange and long-term partnerships. 92% of participants rated the programme highly for relevance, collaboration, and impact.
Bootcamp sessions, women- and youth-focused activities: Practical workshops equipped participants with route-to-market strategies, while targeted sessions strengthened participation and visibility of women and youth in innovation ecosystems.
Matchmaking sessions: SEADE connected innovators with investors through live and online events, including an ePitching session with the winning innovators at the Innovation Fair 2025, highlighting ventures in HealthTech, AgriTech, GreenTech, IoT, and AI.
Legacy
