THE PROGRAMME

The SEADE Bootcamp Sessions aim to equip R&IID and industry actors in Europe and Africa with the essential skills to successfully transition research innovations into market-ready solutions. Participants will gain in-depth knowledge of market dynamics, business development strategies, and investment readiness, enabling them to navigate the commercialization process effectively. Two sessions took place in April, followed by three additional sessions in September 2025.

SESSION 1

Navigating Challenges That Limit Market Access for R&IID Innovations in Europe and Africa

24 April 2025 10:00 – 12:00 CET

Organised by Waziup and EBN

This session focused on providing an understanding of the challenges that impede the transition of Research and Innovation Solutions to the market. It began by painting a picture of the market situation in both Europe and Africa, highlight the existing problems for market penetration in each and provide a success story for solutions that have navigated these challenges. The session concluded with a case study for the Kenyan innovation market ecosystem.

Strategies for Youth and Women Empowerment in Digital R&I

This session focused on bridging the inclusion gap for women and youth in Africa’s digital R&I ecosystem. It gave strategic insights on policy interventions from the African Union, practical support programmes for female-led startups, and success stories from tech-driven female entrepreneurs. Participants also gained exposure to existing innovation networks and opportunities supporting youth and women across Africa.
